I'm pleased to say that our bible readings site at http://read.thepositiveword.com has now been reinstated. The site has been unavailable for about a week due to issues with our web hosting provider, so I have now re-written the back ground processing that provides the bible text. There are a few items that still need further work:

Are you worried about credit card fraud?

How safe is our data - in particular our financial data? Can anyone access our bank account or credit card and take money without us realizing until the next statement is due? Should we worry about these things?

It's amazing how you can turn a minor frustration into something positive. This morning I was going to work at the Whitley site, where the car parks are on the outside of the campus and you have to go through a security gate to get in. It was raining, so I had my umbrella, lunch box and my laptop case. I didn't have enough arms. I arrived at the gate which is a very narrow turnstile, and helped the lady in front of me who had got her handbag stuck in the turnstile.

Pecha Kucha

I recently came across 'Pecha Kucha' (usually pronounced in three syllables like "pe-chak-cha") which is a simple way to execute engaging presentations - the rules being that you can display 20 images for 20 seconds each. That's it - the presentation done in 6 minutes and 40 seconds. Some more links here:
