Thank God for Jupiter!

Take a look at this news story: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/22/science/space/22jupiter.html
Jupiter was hit by a big meteor last sunday "leaving a bruise the size of the Pacific Ocean near its south pole". What interested me is the last quote:
In an e-mail message, [Dr. Marchis] said humans should be thankful for Jupiter. “The solar system would have been a very dangerous place if we did not have Jupiter,” he wrote. “We should thank our giant planet for suffering for us. Its strong gravitational field is acting like a shield protecting us from comets coming from the outer part of the solar system.”
Isn't it amazing that our planet Earth is in the perfect place to sustain life? And now I find that Jupiter is in the perfect place to protect us from meteors and comets. It is really humbling to realise that this did not come about by chance - God created everything in it's place that we might have life. So, rather than thank Jupiter, we must thank God, and pray that His plan and purpose will continue to be worked out as He brings about His kingdom on Earth.
